it's a blitz.

i went to 4 different music shops today in search of the yeah yeah yeahs new cd, and it was sold out at ALL of them!
what the heck? i normally am never hip enough/motivated enough to buy music anywhere close to the release date, but i really really love the yeah yeah yeahs so i went out to do my duty as a FAN. is this normal? i've been told over and over that "nobody buys cds anymore".
so... i downloaded it on pirate bay. sowwy!

i bought some other junk instead; i got sold on this War Child compilation because it has the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are covering the Ramones and Peaches is covering Iggy Pop.

i don't usually pay attention to where my music comes from, where the bands are based, what their nationality is... but jonathan AND last.fm do. we have SO much amazing music in canada. we've got the broken social scene thing and the new pornographer crew, sam roberts and the quin twins, but i was surprised by these ones:

the unicorns/islands from montreal. WHAT? i though they were from outerspace or something.

our country is so hip. also, last.fm is frighteningly awesome in a big brother way. it reminds me of when i first went on facebook. last fm pulled all my music information from my itunes and in turn it gives me recommendations for new music. like facebook i feel like i'm a big joke (when i say I, i mean ALL of us, everyone on fbook) for giving the "MAN" what they want (more data for chart plot points and demographic info) but so far it seems quite useful.

poor palace is moving to new levels.. of existiness! we got a keyboard (a psr 600, pictured), and also a drum machine (not as exciting looking, so not pictured). so far it's been pretty hilarious. mitch decided his stage name is "captain rap"! and he wants me to called "kelsey keyboard". haha!

oh man, i just burned my mouth SO bad on chicken noodle soup. i am BEYOND annoyed with myself over it.

screen printing class hasn't been as magical as i'd hoped, i pretty much had another wasted class tonight. but i haven't given up yet. i'm going to get something (besides grimey, painty fingers) out of that class yet. i have a pretty good idea for my next project that i think i will actually be able to pull off.

it really sucks to have a co-worker say, pretty much out of the blue, "you seemed really unmotivated last week". guh. it's 100% true, i am lacking motivation, it's kind of a yucky feeling to have somebody else notice and point it out. it's getting closer and closer to moseying time there...

downloading + the library + my ipod = me having a ton of music (always on hand) that i'm digging! i indulged myself and downloaded every nofx album. oh me.

i bought a bit of fabric from value village (and applied for a job while i was there) and returned home eager to make something. BUT now i can't get my sewing machine to work. the bobbin just gets tangled every second. booo.
